Chicken fettuccini alfredo is a classic Italian dish that originated in Rome in the early 20th century. It was created by Alfredo di Lelio for his pregnant wife who was experiencing nausea and couldn’t eat much. The dish became popular in the United States in the 1920s after silent film stars Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks fell in love with it during their honeymoon in Rome.
